Mercy
Review: Buns buns buns. This wasn’t ‘War of the Worlds’ bad. But it was real bad. Let’s maybe just stop with the screen-life movies. There has yet to be a good one. The premise of this was interesting, at least it was when it happened in ‘Minority Report’ and ‘The Fugitive.’ For an original movie, it really was pretty unoriginal. It follows Chris Pratt as a detective on trial for the murder of his wife. But the trial is presided by an AI judge (Rebecca Ferguson) and the defendant only has 90 minutes to prove their innocence. And also it is not good. I understand Ferguson was playing an AI character, but her performance was really stiff. And the personality of her AI confused me because she’s all impartial and cold but makes snide remarks and comments throughout the film. And Pratt’s performance was equally ineffective. Just a big miss here.
High: Luckily it’s only 100 minutes long. So it’s a bearable watch since it’s not unnecessarily long.
Low: Has to be a low point for Chris Pratt’s career. And Rebecca Ferguson’s career. And Chris Sullivan’s career. And everyone else who was in it’s career.
