Reindeer Games

Review: This 2000 action thriller stars Ben Affleck as a convict getting released from prison. After his cellmate is killed, he assumes his identity and gets caught up in a scheme to rob a casino. Overall, the film is mediocre at best. It’s a pretty run of the mill action movie, just has a little Christmas setting to slightly set it apart. And I would say it’s a Christmas movie. But not a very good one. Super meh. If you enjoy action flicks, you’ll probably get a kick out of it so you can stream it on Paramount+ or free on Pluto TV. Writing reviews about mid-movies is hard.

High: I enjoyed Gary Sinise’s performance. And Charlize Theron was okay. That’s all I got. I guess I will also say that they used Christmas music effectively throughout the movie.

Low: This movie was so corny & convoluted. I don’t know what was worse. The corniness of the convolution. Or the convolution of the corniness. It was layered. Ben Affleck is a cornball.
