Oh, Hi!
Review: A 2025 romantic comedy (that could probably be described as a dark comedy) that I had the pleasure of taking my wife on a date to see the other day, I think this film is one of the must watches of 2025. It was absolutely hilarious and was also just incredibly unique. The film follows a couple, Iris & Isaac (Molly Gordon & Logan Lerman) who go a weekend getaway, but things go awry when Iris learns that the two are not on the same page about their relationship. While my wife & I loved the brand of humor, I could see that it may potentially be a little goofier than someone would enjoy. The film is awfully original and does continue to build on the craziness, so I’d love to hear your thoughts. It’s also worth mentioning that as a certified Percy Jackson kid, I loved Logan Lerman in this movie.
High: This movie is genuinely hilarious from start to finish. Though I think this title will soon go to the new ‘Naked Gun’ film, as of now, this is the funniest movie I’ve seen this year. My wife & I had a great time with it in the theater (even though the couple next to us was talking & watching TikToks the whole time), but I think this could also be a good at home date night once it’s streaming. Gordon & Lerman were both very solid, with Gordon being particularly funny. But to me, the most consistently funny cast member was John Reynolds as Kenny, the boyfriend of Iris’s best friend, Max (Geraldine Viswanathan).
Low: It was potentially concerning how every time Iris would say something a little crazy my wife would chuckle and say ‘Wait, did that sound like me?’
