F1

Review: This is one of those films that I feel as though I need to sit on for a while because I came out of it so incredibly high. Like I immediately put it in my #2 spot of 2025 films, which maybe it should be a little lower but I just had such a good time with it. It’s a cool movie. It’s a fun movie. The film featured a lot of interesting, charismatic performances. Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodina, Sarah Niles, Will Merrick, & Abdul Salis all deserve a mention but the three leads all gave some great performances. Kerry Condon was so incredibly charming in her role as Kate and I thought was a great foil to Brad Pitt’s character. Damson Idris was incredibly cool as Joshua Pearce and I’m really excited to see what he does next. Finally Brad Pitt. First of all, if you didn’t know, he’s so handsome. He’s also so likable and slid seamlessly into his role as Sonny Hayes. This is one of those films that just gets you hyped up and I left it seriously considering to start watching Formula One.

High: I saw this film in Dolby Atmos and I’d recommend that if you can because the sound was incredible. The driving scenes sounded so awesome & I expect this movie might win the Oscar for Best Sound next year. On top of the great sound there was a great soundtrack that mixed well with a really good score composed by Hans Zimmer. I predict the score will probably also receive an Oscar nomination. The film was also very visually appealing (not just because of Brad Pitt) with some good practical effects & solid cinematography.

Low: I guess I’d say my low is that every time it showed an F1 driver, I could tell I was supposed to know who they were, but I didn’t. That’s not on the movie & it didn’t bother me at all, just an observation. The only one where I did know who it was was Lewis Hamilton, which should tell you my knowledge level of real life Formula One.
